Well, hello May. April flew by and I wish it didn't zoom by so quickly. Life lately has been busy but good, and April consisted of lots and lots of painting! It felt good to have my nose down in canvases. I participated in my first Art Festival on April 11th and it was amazing. I met so many wonderful Artists and connected with so many lovely people who attended the festival. I hope to do it again next year. I also celebrated my birthday on the 19th, and it was lovely. My kids also both had fun sports games & band competition performance, and it's just so cool to see them grow. 
That picture to the right is of a cozy, calm moment in one of my favorite spots to just go and work or sip on a yummy beverage while reading. I even made a new friend at the Coffee Shop (which was my favorite moment from this past week). She was reading too, and so we couldn't help but start chatting with each other about our reads. :) I love connecting with people in real life, it's good for the soul. 
Anywho, it's the beginning of a new week, and well...a new month! I'm excited to see what May holds. I hope it holds all good things for you. Until next time, friends. 

Happiest of Mondays, friends!
This was me yesterday afternoon, writing up this blog, actually! Notice anything different? Yes, I'm actually sitting in my new little (work in progress) art studio space, and not the dining room table...progress update! :) It's not nearly done and barely anything is set up yet, but I'm already loving being tucked away in here. 
​Normally I would be knocking things out, but honestly...I just have not had the energy at all and my health has been a struggle over the past 6 months. I've been on a medication that has had terrible side effects, one of them being major fatigue. Sooo that's slowed me down some. But anyway, baby steps! 
One thing I'm pretty excited to do though, is to vlog about my art studio/set up process. I'll be sharing more on that soon. Okay, back to getting some work done! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your Monday, and that it's filled with joyful little moments.

Hello friends,
I think I'm having a harder time with losing that one hour with daylight savings, are you? Ah well, it's okay, we shall adjust! Good news is that Spring is moving in on us, and I love capturing the little signs of plant life sprouting and blooming. I'll be honest, there is not much to look at in North Texas, and our landscape is pretty flat. I find myself lacking inspiration at times as an artist because I'm so visual, and grew up around mountains and ocean. But, there is beauty everywhere if you choose to see it. I've really started diving into gardening the last few years and if I'm being honest, have grown quite the "obsession" with all things plants. It helps to keep me inspired and surrounded with beauty and joy! Call me a plant Mom, if you will. :) I keep driving by Farmer's Markets and nurseries looking out for those colorful blooms. I guess I just need to be patient. 

As we journey into this new week, I hope you seek and find moments of beauty and joy to inspire you in whatever your days may look like. Each day is different, and as I like to say....life is a canvas given to us by God, the ultimate Creator. God Bless you, friends.
